All people are talking about Paris, Dubai, Bali.

And those are beautiful places. However, there are times when the issue with the popular destinations is the crowd. Long queues, high prices, and all that.

But what will you say if I tell you that some of the most wonderful travelling times are in places which are not much discussed about?

Less noise. More connection. Real moments.

In this blog, we will discuss 5 underrated travel destinations that are overlooked by the majority of people- but in truth, they should not.

🇨🇦 1. Mont-Tremblant, Quebec (Canada)

The thought of Mont-Tremblant as a winter ski resort only comes to the mind of most people. And winter here is wonderful. But what most people are not aware of is that it is beautiful throughout the year.

During summer, you enjoy serene lakes, hiking tracks and the fresh mountain air. During the fall, the whole field turns into tones of orange and red- it is unreal.

It is a small charming village, almost a European town camouflaged in Canada. You will be able to stroll, get a coffee, and simply experience the slow atmosphere.

It is not too packed (not during high season), so it is ideal when you do not need to do anything special, but simply have a rest and unwind.

🇻🇳 2. Ninh Binh (Vietnam)

When tourists travel to Vietnam, they normally head to Hanoi or Ha Long Bay. But Ninh Binh is one of those places that come to your surprise.

Suppose you are on a small boat, drifting slowly along clear rivers, amidst high limestone mountains. There are no noisy crowds, no hurry--only nature.

That’s Ninh Binh.

The boat ride here or in Trang An or Tam Coc are serene and nearly film-like. It is one of the experiences when you do not even feel like looking at your phone.

It is also not as commercial as other tourist destinations and thus it is more real and authentic.

🇸🇮 3. Lake Bled (Slovenia)

Lake Bled looks like something out of a postcard. A small island in the middle of the lake, a church and mountains all around.

Nevertheless, lots of tourists bypass Slovenia and visit its neighbors.

The beauty of Lake Bled lies in its simplicity. No long itinerary is required here. You can simply walk around the lake, boat to the island or sit back and relax and enjoy the view.

It is clean, quiet and not too crowded at the right time.

Ideal location in case you need to slow down and be there.

🇮🇳 4. Chopta Valley (India)

Chopta Valley is one of such hidden treasure, which is not completely explored by many people, including India.

It is also referred to as the Mini Switzerland of India and after visiting it, you would know why.

All the green meadows, and the fresh air, And the Himalayas in sight. It is untouched and pure.

The Tungnath trek is an absolute must-do in case you love trekking. And when you are not, even to be there and look on the quiet is sufficient.

No big city noise. No distractions. Nature taking its course.

It is the sort of place that makes you know how relaxing travelling could be.

🇵🇹 5. Azores (Portugal)

The Azores are islands in the mid-Atlantic and, truthfully, they seem like an entirely different world.

Volcanoes and waterfalls and hot springs and green hills and ocean--all this in a single place.

But somehow, it’s still not as crowded as other European destinations.

This is the right place in case you are an adventurer, who loves nature as well. You can also hike, visit volcanic scenery, rest in natural hot springs or simply appreciate the scenery.

It is rugged and untamed, something hard to come by today.

✈️ Final Thoughts

Travel is not necessarily where everyone is traveling.

It is not always the case that the most enjoyable experiences are those that are not being discussed on social media.

Little-known destinations provide you with space, to think, to explore and to truly experience the present moment.

No pressure. No rush.

Just real travel.
